At Red Moor School, we are committed to raising achievement and enabling all students to achieve their full potential. We support them through a personalised, engaging, and relevant curriculum which helps to overcome a complex range of barriers to learning.
Our students are always our priority, and we constantly work to develop and improve our core knowledge and skills to support our students so that they can make a manageable and meaningful successful transition to work, college, and adult life. The environment we provide will give students a structured and supportive place where they feel safe enough to take responsibility for their actions.
Our Ethos
Red Moor School has one simple vision – to deliver the best education for every child that attends.
We will work tirelessly to ensure that your child has the very best opportunities to progress in their learning and in their emotional development. We invest in the best resources to enhance the school’s learning environment and ensure that staff receive a high level of training, so we are more able to help your child succeed in school and in life.
We know from talking to parents and carers that when their child joins us it is often at a point when they feel beaten by the experiences, they have had trying to find the right educational placement for their child. Families often feel like they have been torn apart by an education system that does not meet the needs of their child. At Red Moor we put every child at the forefront of our thinking. We design a personalised educational experience that will re-engage, motivate and excite our students. Our carefully considered nurturing support helps the students to grow in confidence and begin to dream big again. As a result of our interventions the wounds that families have received can begin to heal and everyone can flourish.
We have developed a high level of specialism in working with students with ASC conditions, attachment difficulties and a range of learning difficulties. We have helped the most disaffected and disengaged students begin to make outstanding educational and emotional progress. We do not give up on our students and will do everything we can to make education work for them. We are passionate in helping our families and will go the extra mile to ensure that they feel listened to and supported.
When a child joins our school, we expect that:
- They will achieve the best results and qualifications. We know that this is different for every student. Many of our students will gain excellent GCSE results. Many will complete vocational qualifications such as BTEC and foundation skills. Many students will attend relevant work placements and gain qualifications and essential experience that will position them better for life after school.
- They will progress outstandingly well across a broad range of subjects including literacy and numeracy.
- They will develop emotional resilience and a better social awareness so they can begin, and continue, to experience success.
- At Red Moor we know that there is no magic wand that can be waved to make things better for our students and their families. Instead, we offer hard work, dedication, the best trained professionals, support out of school and in holidays and an assurance that we will do all that we can to ensure the best outcomes for your child.
